Woodiana.today is an experimental online forecast service developed to save the Danube's future through speculative fabulation. It is run by Woodiana, a freshwater mussel of the species Sinanodonta woodiana (I. Lea, 1834), that was introduced from China, and today she is facilitated by her international team of artists and scientists.

The Nooscope is a cartography of the limits of artificial intelligence, intended as a provocation to both computer science and the humanities. Any map is a partial perspective, a way to provoke debate. Similarly, this map is a manifesto — of AI dissidents. Its main purpose is to challenge the mystifications of artificial intelligence. The purpose of the Nooscope map is to secularise AI from the ideological status of ‘intelligent machine’ to one of knowledge instruments

Shining moment in between (a mapped projection in spatially limited circumstances) is a practical and theoretical exploration of the change in perception of space and environment through the use of digital technology. Focus is on creating audio-visual sequences made out of digitized archive material, animation, and reproduction of videos in real time. Through determined goals, the focus of the project is on the impact of the mapped projection as a particular work of socially engaged art on the public space.

Anatomy of an AI System is a large-scale map and long-form essay investigating the human labor, data, and planetary resources required to build and operate an Amazon Echo. The exploded view diagram combines and visualises three central, extractive processes that are required to run a large-scale artificial intelligence system: material resources, human labor and data. The map and essay consider these three elements across time — represented as a visual description of the birth, life and death of a single Amazon Echo unit.

National+ selection has existed since 2017 when, after the first initial art+science activities and events, we learned and identified numerous independent and mostly unrelated actors of the Serbian art & science scene. Still, the term ‘national’ should be taken conditionally. It is about creators of diverse interests and practices who work and live here, however, for the most part, it is about artists who reside abroad for shorter or longer periods of time, often with minor or nonexistent relations with local actors, or other participants in transdisciplinary programmes at the intersection of science and art.

As an unprecedented collective experience, the 2020 pandemic has come to emphasise the importance of both creatively cognitive character, as well as, universal aspirations constituting a point of intersection between art and science. With respect to the theme of this exhibition, though already present, yet, by unforeseen circumstances, accelerated transfer of digital data, and enforced reliance on artificial intelligence, intensified the interdependent relationship of humans and state of the art machines, making it an everyday occurrence. From the techno-pessimistic perspective, this affects a reinforced control and surveillance of human activities. However, coalescing with art, science succeeds in not only overcoming its self-sufficiency

Running at Frame Rate is a gaming software with frame rate as its core mechanic. The artwork addresses the technological assumption that photo-real representation of the physical world is a constant and exponential hardware and software movement. Herein, the computer is the main character whose primary goal is to render efficiently while reaching its extreme limits. The software continually remembers its performance and reacts to it with various optimizations. It is a world construction exercise through both the pragmatic assembling of it on the screen, while the narrative emerges from the hardware reaction to the software

The ecological crisis is a human crisis. Oceans must not be considered as flat blue surfaces which serve as dropping holes where we can let vanish all our anthropogenic remains. There are vast amounts of organisms that live down there and some suffer pain from our waste and noise. Many are aware of mammals such as whales and dolphins but often ignored is the invisible and the inaudible environment to us that is deeply secluded. Therefore, in this installation, we have created

Brain Pictures is a multidisciplinary research project connecting scientific methodologies and knowledge with artistic practice. The core of the project is the assumption that an art work activates the patterns of neural networks through external, internal or both stimuli, while the observer plays a crucial role with a set of ontological, epistemological, sociological, political and economic implications.
