As a meeting point for artists, researchers, philosophers and other creators who develop artificial intelligence systems or who interpret and present them through their authentic poetics, approaches and scientific work, the series of art+science+AI conversations offers a unique insight into the theoretical background of art+science practice as well as into the presented contents of the exhibition AI Realities.
The 6th edition of the art+science programme, organised by the Center for the Promotion of Science from September 23 until October 23, 2021, brings forth new and exciting artworks inspired by artificial intelligence. The art+science festival takes place in multiple locations around Belgrade – at the Museum of Science and Technology, the Gallery of Cervantes Institute, The CPN Science Club etc. A wide variety of interdisciplinary artworks is at display, which emerge from the close collaboration between artists, scientists and other creators, aiming to investigate and elaborate the most important technological issues of today. This year's art+science edition is based on the critical and creative assessment, representation and interpretation of values, systems and capacities of artificial intelligence.

Тhe European Media Art Platform (EMAP), initiated by the Werkleitz and co-funded by the Creative Europe programme in 2018, is a consortium of 11 leading European media art organisations specialising in Digital and Media Art, Bio Art and Robotic Art. EMAP acts as a marketplace for associated partners to select artists and works for their own festivals and exhibitions. In addition to production support for artists, EMAP provides an international platform to promote and disseminate the work of media artists.
When we talk about filter bubbles or Echo Chambers, we automatically think of social media, but what will happen if we think about everything else, such as myths, our intimate stories, knowledge clusters, loneliness and personal preferences? BINEMAs are humanised AI-like systems that capture verbal and nonverbal movements in your behavior, and translate them into contemporary dance. BINEMAs, similar to algorithms, determine which content you get to see based on your interactions with them. By co-creating danceprint with BINEMAs you could contemplate the direct result of filter bubbles, such as polarisation of societies, amplification of biases, less tolerance for opposing views, more vulnerability to fake news, or just forget yourself in another art-sci content.
Shining moment in between (a mapped projection in spatially limited circumstances) is a practical and theoretical exploration of the change in perception of space and environment through the use of digital technology. Focus is on creating audio-visual sequences made out of digitized archive material, animation, and reproduction of videos in real time. Through determined goals, the focus of the project is on the impact of the mapped projection as a particular work of socially engaged art on the public space.
Semeion is an ever-evolving light and sound installation exploring Artificial Intelligence from an aesthetic and humanistic point of view. The installation consists of several large minimalist structures that individually and collectively respond to human presence. As such, it invites viewers to move around the installation to engage in a bodily conversation with artificially intelligent ‘beings’ of light and sound. Over time, the expression of these beings change based on their experience with humans, as a neural network is trained to explore what humans respond well to.
It all started with a first flush, or some would say, before the actual flush. A small miscellaneous moment and lack of attention. And so the Fatberg was born from the depths of human ignorance in the depth of the sewer pipe.
Woodiana.today is an experimental online forecast service developed to save the Danube's future through speculative fabulation. It is run by Woodiana, a freshwater mussel of the species Sinanodonta woodiana (I. Lea, 1834), that was introduced from China, and today she is facilitated by her international team of artists and scientists.
