Industrial Heritage through Art & Science Lenses
Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Rijeka
13.06.2025.
Konferencija Industrial Heritage through Art & Science Lenses predstavlja jednodnevni događaj koji će okupiti brojne istraživačke i umetničke grupe, pasionirane poštovaoce industrijskog nasleđa regije i raznovrsne aktere koji deluju na širokom prostoru oivičenom naukom, tehnologijom, umetnošću, industrijom, istorijom i nasleđem.
As the closing event of the two-and-a-half-year FASIH – Future Art Science Industrial Heritage project, supported by the EU’s Creative Europe program, the conference will focus on presenting the project’s methodology, the results of many research and educational activities, and the outcomes of interdisciplinary studies carried out at sites in Rijeka, Trbovlje, and Belgrade. Ten research-based productions will premiere in exhibitions held across these three cities during May and June. Most of the authors of the selected works will attend the conference to introduce their research through dedicated installations and discussions.
A special segment of the program features invited talks by distinguished researchers and artists from the region. Among them is Dr Alexei Monroe, a British researcher of industrial culture and audiovisual artist based in Croatia, whose work has long focused on the post-industrial values of Southeast Europe.
Complementing the conference are several accompanying events including a FASIH exhibition at the nearby Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, an exhibition of all completed studies displayed on panels at the University Campus, and a compact showcase of selected productions and completed activities in the lobby of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. A draft program can be viewed via the following link.
Attendance at the conference is free, but registration is required and will remain open until 31 May 2025.
